Burn More Body Fat With Spices

Fitness author Jon Benson shared this letter with me and gave me permission to share it with you.

    It's the spice of life.

Food that is. Or opinions. I guess there is a lot of things that are officially "the spice of life."

I think spices are the spice of life.

I have a new-found love of spices since hanging around a killer healthy-food chef for the past week.

Wow oh wow... I had no idea.

And hey -- I'm helping her put her recipes into to a book that will be out soon.

I'll send you all a video of this woman doing her thing too in a week or so... prepare to be blown away.

    Back to spices:

Not only can spices save an otherwise boring healthy meal.... turns to find out spices can help you burn more bodyfat.

The January 2006 issue of The Journal of Physiology and Behavior cited numerous studies on several spices that increased thermogenesis in the body.

Thermogenesis is simply heat -- and since a calorie is a unit of heat, guess what?

More thermogenesis = more calories burned = Less bodyfat.

    Pretty cool stuff this thermogenesis.

In fact thermogenesis is the foundation of my upcoming handbook "The Radical Fatloss Blueprint." Out in late February.

I'm giving this book away for freee for 21 days to anyone who owns a copy of "The Every Other Day Diet."

The book comes out in late February... and it is... well, radical.

Up to 21 pounds in 21 days.

But you can only do it for 21 days. Fair deal, right?

If you want the book for freee, make sure you have "Every Other Day Diet" so I can send it to you the last week of February.

For now, here's the spices that work the best to help you burn bodyfat:

    1. Capsaicin, the compound gives red chili pepper its heat, increased energy via heat expenditure by up to 23% after ingesting it at breakfast.

    2. Black Pepper increases body heat (thermogenesis) by bonding to TRPV1 receptors in the brain.

    3. Turmeric has both anti-cancer and pro-thermogenic support. Best of two worlds if you ask me.

Combine these three spices:  Red chili pepper, black pepper and turmeric, and use them liberally (as you can handle them) on your lunch and dinner meals.

Just be careful not to overdo the spices, otherwise you'll end up with more heartburn than fatburn.

I'll be including FAR more powerful ways to burn bodyfat radically in "The Radical Fatloss Blueprint" -- and you can get your copy free the last week of February if you own Every Other Day Diet.

    Nutritional Remedies for Seasonal Allergies

Photo by Linda Compton2 million Americans suffer from seasonal allergies-the persistent sneezing and runny nose; the itchy, watery eyes; the stuffy and aching head. And if the allergy were not enough, people with allergies may also suffer from fatigue (can’t sleep at night), migraine headaches, and depression (sleep deprived?.)

The American Academy of Allergy and Immunology suggests that the best way to reduce allergies is to avoid the allergen, but this is neither completely possible nor realistic.

The allergic reaction is a natural but unnecessary response by the body to a substance which is not normally harmful.  The body “sees” the allergen as an invader.  It identifies “invaders” and mobilizes white blood cells that produce histamines to take them out.  Histamines cause responses like sneezing, itchy and watery eyes to help get rid of the offending pollen. Allergies are serious.  Especially if you have asthma, the allergic response may trigger shortness of breath, tightening in your throat from swelling bronchial tubes and potentially life-threatening conditions.

The pharmaceutical industry continues to develop new allergy medications, both over the counter and prescription.  These drugs relieve the symptoms but do not treat the allergy and often carry side effects and a high cost.  Anti-histamines stop the histamine production triggered when your body senses an allergen. This prevents the body from flushing the allergen out of your system.

A whole foods diet with plenty of whole grains, fruits and vegetables, legumes, nuts & seeds, and low fat dairy can be helpful in cleansing your body of toxins and supporting your immune system.  And drinking plenty of water can help flush your system and keep you from becoming dehydrated.  Here are some tips:

    • Papaya, mango, citrus fruits, and berries are rich in Vitamin C and other anti-oxidants
    • Bananas, kidney beans, almonds and brown rice are good sources of magnesium.  According to a studdy at Glessen University in Germany, 180 mg of magnesium, about the amount in 3 bananas, was enough to stop a hay fever attack.
    • Apples (skin), parsley, black tea, onions, citrus, tomatoes, broccoli, and leaf lettuce are good sources of Quercetin, a bioflavenoid which carries both anti -histamine and anti-inflammatory properties.
    • Foods high in Omega-3 Fatty acids like cold water fish, flax seeds, and walnuts may help with allergy symptoms.
    • Horseradish, hot mustard, chili peppers and mint are natural decongestants.
    • Onions and garlic contain phytonutrients that help reduce runny nose and other allergy symptoms.
    • Eating a cup of yogurt every day may reduce the incidence of hay fever attacks.
    • Local honey carries small amounts of bee digested pollen.  Bee pollen is pre-digested so your body accepts it.  This reduces your allergic response when exposed to raw pollen.
    • A daily drink containing spirulena, chlorella or wheat grass along with a variety of fruits and vegetables can help detoxify your body from allergens.  We like Alive Ultra Shake or Vita Mineral Green.  You can find a variety at your local health food store.

Try these recipes for an immune boost as a good start to your day or an afternoon pick-me-up.  Put all the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.  More or less liquid can be added to reach the consistency you like.

    Banana Almond Date Shake

1 large ripe banana, fresh or frozen

     ¼ cup chopped dates*

    1 Tbsp Almond Butter

2 Tbsp (1 scoop) Alive Ultra Shake

    ½ cup plain nonfat yogurt

    1 large ripe banana

    1 cup mango

    2 Tbsp Alive Ultra Shake

    1 cup Orange Juice
